Just Leadership

But surely a company making profits must be well led? Not necessarily. Many organisations are successful in spite of their leaders not because of them. How much better could they be with truly superb leadership?

The usual push back at this point is: Well if we are making money why should we care about leadership?  Well – let’s put all the "soft" answers to one side for the moment - the answer is – money. You have spent thousands (possibly millions) on IT. You may well have SAP or Oracle. Perhaps you have implemented an e-procurement system. Why did you do all this?  To squeeze costs out of the food chain. Increase profitability. Increase return for shareholders (and yourself).  The problem for most businesses is that the value chain now looks positively anorexic – so hard has it been squeezed.

So what’s left? The clever money is now on personal (and personnel) development.  After all people use tools and these tools are only as good as the people who use them.  The CRM tool that smiles and says thank you hasn’t  been invented yet.  Ask a Lehman Brother – if you can find one.

So how do you spot a good leader?  What are the telltale signs?
You can see them being effective externally, fulfilling deadlines and producing profits with happy motivated colleagues internally.

This is an attainable skill not a charismatic gift from heaven. Just Leadership has been designed to deliver excellence in leadership leveraging the strengths of the individual.

Ros Taylor has developed the programme after much research into leadership and effectiveness. She met with 80 chief executives in the UK and the USA asking what had led to their success for her book Fast Track to the Top. The results gave birth to this programme.

This is not a band aid course with directives on what to do. Change must be inside out building on individual experience. Modules are structured to move from awareness of the leader within and personal skills through interpersonal then team skills. There are 3 foundation modules exploring personal style and creativity followed by monthly inputs on dealing with insane times, making an impact, managing performance with motivation, team bonding and handling the most difficult of people.
